“…for the sake of our commission to ‘go and make disciples,’ I hope Christians will not surrender the public schools. Instead, let us take them back. Let’s consider them a mission field.”
--- Franklin Graham, Decision magazine, September 2004
I am a recently retired 30-year veteran classroom teacher of mathematics and a new author. In the past decade or so I have felt driven by an increased interest in God's Word and what I feel as my new calling has led to the publication of my first book.
I began teaching in southern Ohio after graduation and went on to earn a M.Ed. in mathematics education in 1983 from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
Throughout my teaching career I achieved several honors, the greatest in his mind being the earning of certification from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards in Adolescent/Young Adult Mathematics in 1997.
I have worked with the State of Ohio Department of Education on a variety of projects including rewriting of the state’s mathematic content standards in 2000. I also served on former Ohio Governor Bob Taft’s Teacher Advisory Board.
I enjoy life in rural southern Ohio with my wife, Bessie, stepdaughters Kelli and Brittany, stepson T.J. and grandson Peyton. As a former coach, I enjoy all sports and referee high school football each year.
